Saronic today announced the expansion of its family of Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs) with the addition of two new models: the 40-foot Mirage and the 60-foot Cipher.
Saronic press release
Designed to support a broad range of autonomous maritime missions, the new vessels offer extended range and up to 10,000 pounds of carrying capacity. Mirage and Cipher join Saronicโs Spyglass (6โ), Cutlass (14โ), and Corsair (24โ), as well as the recently introduced medium unmanned surface vessel (MUSV), Marauder.
โWe are committed to advancing autonomous maritime capabilities that protect critical waterways, secure the maritime domain, and deliver lasting economic and security advantages to the U.S. and its allies,โ
Saronic CEO Dino Mavrookas
โThe future of maritime dominance depends on the rapid adoption of these technologies โ and achieving that future will require a diverse range of ASVs, from small vessels to larger systems designed to support existing and emerging critical mission needs.โ
To deliver on the need for a diverse range of autonomous platforms, Mirage and Cipher will be developed to extend the range and carrying capacity of Saronicโs offerings. The two new models will be designed to support a broad range of mission requirements for U.S. and allied maritime forces, as well as a myriad of applications for the commercial maritime industry โ from port-to-port logistics to supporting harbor operations.

- Mirage will have a range of over 2,000 nautical miles and a carrying capacity of 2,000 pounds, double the range and capacity of Saronicโs Corsair platform.
- Cipher represents a significant leap forward, featuring a range exceeding 3,000 nautical miles and supporting a carrying capacity of 10,000 pounds, marking a major advancement in capability for its small ASV line-up.

โSaronicโs development of Mirage and Cipher is based on the deep understanding of the mission sets and capabilities we have cultivated with our customers since the companyโs founding. These new models are ideally suited to bring even greater capability to the maritime domain,โ said Mavrookas.
Mirage and Cipher will be built leveraging Saronicโs proven vertically integrated approach, in which hardware, software, and autonomy are developed in-house to work seamlessly together; with Saronicโs unified software and autonomy stack powering each platform. Every new Saronic ASV model inherits the proven reliability, capabilities, and best practices refined through prior ASV model development, as well as the innovation embedded in the core software. This approach enables Saronic to rapidly produce its ASVs at scale and deliver true autonomy from the keel up.
Both platforms will be built around Saronicโs open, modular software architecture, designed to enable adaptability across a range of defense and commercial missions. This makes integrating new sensors, payloads, and technologies fast and straightforward โ without requiring a reengineering of the core system.
Like Saronicโs other ASV models, Mirage and Cipher will be designed for scalability, allowing production workflows and end-of-line processes to be easily replicated โ enabling rapid, scalable manufacturing of each new ASV model.
โSaronic is uniquely positioned to be a holistic provider of autonomous systems that can bring enduring advantage to the maritime domain. Together with Spyglass, Cutlass, Corsair, and the recently announced Marauder MUSV, Mirage and Cipher will be optimized for scalable deployment across the full spectrum of maritime operations,โ said Mavrookas. โWhether in contested environments or complex commercial ports, Mirage and Cipher will bring flexible, intelligent capability to the maritime domain.โ
