Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG1) participated in Norwegian maritime exercise Arctic Dolphin 2022 in the North Sea from Feb. 7-18.

In a ceremony on January 7, Commodore Ad van de Sande of the Royal Netherlands Navy assumed command of the Standing NATO Maritime Group One (SNMG1) from Commodore Bradley Peats of the Royal Canadian Navy.

Standing NATO Maritime Group One (SNMG1) and Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group One (SNMCMG1) will take part in BALTOPS, the premier maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic region between 7-16 June, 2020.

NATO units increase readiness in Baltic Sea during Finnish-led maritime exercise Freezing Winds.

The Finnish Navy’s annual main exercise Freezing Winds 22 kicked off this week – fittingly accompanied by a blizzard that hit the exercise area during Sunday (Nov. 20).

Ships from NATO maritime groups are sailing into the Baltic Sea and will participate in exercises with bordering Allied and partner nations.

The Royal Norwegian Navy's annual exercise FLOTEX 21 is underway. It started on 15 November and will take place in the areas of Vågsfjorden, Andfjorden and the sea area off Andøya (Northern Norway) until 3 December.
