CMN lifts veil on HSAB20 high-speed patrol boat

At Euronaval Online, the digital edition of Euronaval 2020, French shipyard CMN (part of Privinvest) unveiled A new high-speed patrol ship: The HSAB 20.

The HSAB 20 is part of CMN’s family of High Speed Interceptors (HSI). It is designed as a « stealth high-speed craft, able to perform the tasks required by a High Speed Assault Boat mission’s profile », the French shipyard says. HSAB 20 will complement the existing HSI25 and HSI32 interceptors.

Customized for military and law enforcement applications, each HSAB20 features a Deep Vee aluminium hull and two diesel engines that enable the craft to reach up to 40 knots.

HSAB20 provides open sea patrol and surveillance as well as a wide verity of coastal missions such as maritime police and security operations, power projection and general assault operations.

The HSAB20 can also be equipped for surveillance and reconnaissance, special forces operations support, anti-piracy and anti-terrorism mission. All missions are planned and executed from the wheelhouse. The vessel features a fore ramp for disembarking troops directly on the littoral.

Close protection and offensive actions are allowed by a 12.7 mm remote-controlled weapon station and up to three 12.7 or 7.62 mm machine guns. The craft is equipped with one countermeasure obscuring system with two launchers.
