OCEA unveils new patrol ships design at EURONAVAL 2024

OCEA is a shipyard specialized in the design and building of patrol vessels dedicated to law enforcement, search and rescue, and research. For the last four years, the company has been very active in winning important contracts, especially in countries with medium-sized navies including the Philippines, Nigeria, and Ukraine. The shipyards announced that in the 2024-2025 period, the shipyard will have delivered 12 ships from 8-meter river boats to 58-meter OPVs.

To keep pace with the new needs expressed by users and the new threats that emerge, the French shipyard has lifted the veil on 3 new designs of patrol boats.

About Avant-Garde fast patrol boat range

OCEA decided to renew its FPB range by showcasing a new one called “Avant-Garde” measuring from 15 to 41 meters long. According to the specifications given, the boats will be much more capable than the previous generation with the main objective of expanding the range and capabilities.

About new OSV 315

Also called a multi-purpose Offshore Support Vessel due to its modularity and versatility, the OSV 315 has been designed for the growing use of drones in operations and can serve as a hydrography and oceanography, mine countermeasure, and SAR vessel.

About OPV 230

For protection, law enforcement, and an extended range of necessary missions, OCEA showcased the OPV 230 design. Measuring 72 meters with a hybrid propulsion allowing speeds of up to 28 knots, it integrates the necessary assets for situation awareness allowing it to fulfill maritime security missions in the EEZ.

If needed, a closable mission bay to accommodate intervention annexes allows the embarkation of additional equipment or containerized mission modules like a decompression chamber, diving room module, or detention room
