Video: Dearsan Shipyard at IDEF 2023

Turkiye's Dearsan Shipyard showcased new naval solutions and revealed information about the agreement with the Nigerian Navy for the modernization of NNS Aradu at IDEF 2023.

Tahir Conka, Business Development Manager at Dearsan, introduces the Turkish shipyard, highlights the new submarine designs unveiled at the event, and shared details on their recent export contracts with Nigeria.

The video includes;

  • Light submarine for special forces; a 19-meter-long, small submarine designed to deploy special forces and conduct special operations.
  • New XLUUV solution; Light submarine’s unmanned variant equivalent to an XLUUV, which will be capable to fulfil missions such as ASW, ISR and mine warfare.
  • Landing Craft Submarine, designed to support amphibious operations by taking aboard 60 Marines and delivering them undetected to shore. The submarine is also capable of monitoring, detecting, and gathering intelligence on the amphibious operations area.
  • Export contract with Nigeria (new OPVs and Frigate mid-life upgrade): The contract includes modernizing the Nigerian Navy’s flagship, MEKO 360-class frigate “NNS ARADU”, as well as the delivery of a new 57-meter Tuzla-class patrol boat.
