LEVEND represents the latest addition to Turkiye’s growing ecosystem of unmanned systems. In recent years, the country has developed, commissioned, and even exported various unmanned platforms, including UAVs and USVs.

According to company officials at the Baygalata Defence booth at NAVDEX 2025, the development of LEVEND began in 2022. Following a 1.5-year design process, the vessel was launched in the last quarter of 2023, and the first export contract was signed with an undisclosed country in 2024. Baygalata is currently in negotiations with several other countries for further exports.

LEVEND has a length of 6.50 meters, a width of 2.25 meters, and a weight of 2,000 kg. It is capable of exceeding 45 knots and is powered by a 270-300 hp turbo diesel inboard engine with a stern drive propulsion system. It boasts a payload capacity of over 250 kg.

LEVEND features a control range of over 350 nautical miles. It offers multiple operational modes, including fully autonomous, semi-autonomous, and remote control. Equipped with obstacle avoidance technology, LEVEND is designed for multifunctional missions, including exploration, surveillance, patrol, and peacetime surveys using a side-scan sonar.

According to company officials, LEVEND’s compact design ensures a low silhouette and reduced radar cross-section, allowing it to operate discreetly and evade enemy radar detection. Engineered for fully autonomous and remote-controlled missions, the vessel enhances both security and operational efficiency, making it a highly effective platform for a variety of naval operations.

LEVEND features a convertible design, allowing it to be configured for one-way attack (kamikaze) missions. It is equipped with a break switch and a warhead housing, though the warhead and fuse are excluded. The system includes a dual-screen Ground Control System (GCS) and comes with a portable generator for field operations. Additionally, LEVEND is capable of carrying up to 300 kg of explosives.
