LIMA 2019: MTC pushing its Mobile Offshore Base Station

With this in mind, the local shipyard Marine Technology Company (MTC) is always promoting its Mobile Offshore Base Station. The MTC MOBS is based on a self-propelled barge made of welded steel. It has a length of 62 meters, a beam of 18.6 meters and a beam of 3 meters.

The MTC MOBS design includes a stern ramp for launch and recovery of Fast Assault Crafts

The Mobile Offshore Base Station (MOBS) integrates fully air-conditioned accommodation and cabin area for 40 troops on the main deck. These three-stage « structure » includes galley, control room, mess room, and meeting room. Autonomy is provided by a 2000 m3 fuel oil tank and a 200 m3 fresh water tank.

The MOBS is also fitted with a large helicopter pad placed forward and adapted to the RMN H125M Fennec and Super Lynx 300 choppers.

Lastly, a stern ramp is fitted under the structure’s first floor to launch and recover a Fast Interceptor Craft such as the CB90 currently in service with the RMN. The main deck adds two RHIBs that are to be put at sea through dedicated launch and recovery systems.
