The information was posted on the state procurement website.

The shipyard has posted information on the order to paint the aircraft carrier’s external surface by September 1, 2022. More than 250 million rubles ($3.4 million) will be allocated. The bidding period will last through May 20.

Traditionally, after painting work is completed, the ship starts to undergo shipbuilders sea trials.

The Zvyozdochka Shipyard’s press office confirmed such plans and said that extraordinary safety measures would be taken due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Admiral Kuznetsov is currently staying at the 35th Shipyard that is the affiliate of the Zvyozdochka Shipyard in Murmansk in northwest Russia.

The ship is planned to re-join the Navy in 2022.
