Russian Shipyard Lays Keel of Steregushchiy-class corvette Bravy

The keel of Project 20380 corvette Bravy (NATO reporting name: Steregushchy-class) was laid down by the Amur Shipyard on September 29.

According to the press office, Project 20380 corvettes can accomplish a wide range of missions as part of all-arms forces and individually. They are designed to conduct operations at sea, counter adversary surface ships and submarines, support amphibious assault forces and conduct patrolling.

The keel laying ceremony wasย attended byย representatives ofย the Defense Ministry, the command ofย the Navy and the Pacific Fleet, the United Shipbuilding Corporation and the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau, asย well asย the government ofย the Khabarovsk Territory and the administration ofย Komsomolsk-on-Amur.

‘Bravy’ is set to join the Russian Navy Pacific Fleet which now operates three Project 20380 corvettes, namely, the โ€˜Sovershenniyโ€™, the โ€˜Gromkiyโ€™, and the โ€˜Aldar Tsydenzhapovโ€™. The fourth surface combatant ofย the class, โ€˜Rezkiyโ€™, isย set toย join the Pacific Fleet this year. The ‘Grozniy’ is expected to be commissioned in the same fleet in 2024.

By 2028, the Pacific Fleet will operate six Project 20380 and six Project 20385 corvettes.
