“She sailed to the Black Sea from Novorossiysk naval base. The trials are held by the crew and the trial team to test the main parameters and systems, mechanisms and equipment. The warship is scheduled to join the Navy later this year,”

The first stage of trials will test life-support, power and survivability systems, radar arms, communications, ventilation and air conditioning, as well as speed, maneuverability and stability. The crew has trained mooring operations, maintenance of onboard systems, and operation of mechanisms.

The next stage of trials will prepare the corvette for acceptance tests.

The Sergey Kotov was laid on May 8, 2016. The Novorossiysk naval base already operates three project 22160 corvettes — the Vasily Bykov, the Dmitry Rogachev, and the Pavel Derzhavin.
