BAE Systems press release

We’re working with global technology giant Microsoft to advance the application of cloud computing technology in the defence and national security sector.

Together our Combat Systems team and Microsoft are developing and delivering the next generation of maritime defence technology; looking at how this would work and how it can help our defence customers.

Our shared focus is co-innovation and co-engineering. Joint teams have been formed to combine Microsoft’s unrivaled breadth of technical expertise with our Combat Systems team’s decades of Naval Mission Systems domain knowledge. This way of working creates a power-house of shared commitment to deliver for our nation’s defence needs in a digital world.

“Our relationship with Microsoft is a clear illustration of how serious we are about innovating in the digital space. The combined knowledge and expertise of both organisations opens up fantastic potential to reinvent what we do and how we do it.”

Amelia Gould, Naval Ships Combat Systems Director of BAE Systems

“We’re proud and honoured to be working with the team in Naval Ships to provide unique opportunities that take full advantage of current and emerging technologies. It’s been a real meeting of minds and we are delighted to be able to work together to deliver new capability for our joint customer.”

Rob Fraser, Microsoft Senior Director Commercial Software Engineering
