Kraken Secures Deal For Maritime Precision Engagement Platform

Kraken press release

The K50 is designed specifically to meet the growing global requirement for fast-response precision engagement, coastal interdiction, and the protection of critical offshore infrastructure. The K50 will push the boundaries of technical and operational performance with response speeds in excess of 65 knots and optional use of advanced electric powertrain technology to extend key range and performance parameters, all housed within a unique composite design and structure.

The K50 has also been developed to directly address the growing challenges presented by swarming activities through a range of integrated modular systems and sensors which deliver uniquely semi-autonomous operational and offensive capabilities.

“The K50 will demonstrate unparalleled levels of performance, integration, modularity and operational capability which addresses both expeditionary and green-water requirements. This investment will also allow us to establish a dedicated manufacturing facility in the UK which will revolutionise the maritime composite design and integration process, specifically to meet increasingly localised manufacturing and assembly requirements”.

About Kraken K50

Kraken Secures Deal For Maritime Precision Engagement Platform

The K50 is a purpose-built, highly capable maritime platform capable of rapidly responding and deploying massive single or swarm forces to defend national or maritime installations, sovereign waters, and critical civil or commercial infrastructure.

Inspired by the efficiency and capabilities of naval doctrine made possible by the use of World War II-era heavily armed, swarm-supported, gliding motorboats, KRAKEN is in every way the spiritual successor to the famous MTB, MGB and PT type boats.

Designed from the keel up as a fully integrated weapons platform, the KRAKEN K50 outperforms anything currently on the market. It simply offers more power, more effective attack capabilities and more mission-specific customization options. This combination of innovative engineering, careful naval architecture and massive operational capability makes the KRAKEN equally effective in both deterrence and effectiveness roles.

KRAKEN K50 is available in two variants:

K50A is the fully-equipped and definitive maritime precision engagement craft, complete with formidable weaponization and unsurpassed performance envelope. The Kraken is truly game-changing, offering forward-looking, progressive navies unsurpassed flexibility and the opportunity to innovate with new realms of doctrine being unlocked in addressing new and ever-changing threats.

K50B addresses the interdiction, interception, and fast patrol needs of navies, border forces, and law-enforcement agencies. Drawing on the same engineering philosophy, innovative mindset, and able to be equipped to vary degrees to meet specific briefs, Kraken K50B provides extraordinary performance and appropriate levels of weaponization in conjunction with unprecedented mission-specific customisation opportunities.
