Greek defense firm Delian Alliance Industries announces the Interceptigon series—a new line of attritable, concealed, and autonomous one-way effectors, purpose-built for coastal defense operations in the new era of warfare.

Delian Alliance Industries press release

Delian Alliance Industries proudly announces the launch of its Interceptigon series, a new line of attritable, concealed, autonomous one way effectors (OWE) designed to give Europe and allied sovereign nations, a decisive advantage in anti-access/area denial (A2/AD), especially in the coastal defense domain. The effectors are attritable, low cost and built for scale. They dramatically shift the cost-exchange ratio in the defender’s favor.

The Interceptigon series of Delian Alliance Industries includes two distinct autonomous platforms built for stealth and surprise, each engineered for different operational theaters:

  • Interceptigon-A is a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). It remains hidden within natural terrain and rapidly launches high-speed swarm attacks against ground, surface or aerial threats. It excels in remote areas and dynamic frontlines.
  • Interceptigon-N is a stealth unmanned surface vessel (USV). The USV lies concealed on the seabed, safe from satellite or air surveillance, and is optimized to neutralize naval assets during critical disembarkation or transit phases. It is ideal for littoral zones, chokepoints, and port approaches where surprise and timing are critical.

Both platforms have kinetic payloads. They can operate independently or in concert, functioning as an autonomous swarm system to overwhelm and saturate larger, more sophisticated adversaries through coordination, mass and precision.

“We built the Interceptigon series to reflect the realities of asymmetric warfare, where cost-effective, autonomous systems can deliver strategic effects disproportionate to their size and price. We are not in the business of building traditional weapons. We’re building autonomous denial systems for sovereign nations defending their territorial integrity or exclusive economic zones (EEZ) that don’t have the luxury of strategic depth or time. Interceptigon is about readiness, resilience, and sovereignty.”

Dimitrios Kottas, CEO Delian Alliance Industries

Designed to be summoned on demand, deployed quickly, and tasked with minimal input, Interceptigon series of Delian Alliance Industries receive a basic target description and autonomously navigate to engage the threat. This architecture enables scalable deployment and saturation effects on large platforms.

The Interceptigons’ capability is especially relevant for front-line geographies such as the Nordics, Baltics, Southeast Asia, and the Aegean, where terrain, proximity, and threat vectors demand flexible, survivable and scalable denial options. The system is under development and testing. Final specifications, including payload configurations and swarm logic, are being refined in close alignment with end-user requirements, with testing and iteration continuing through 2025.

With the Interceptigon series, Delian Alliance Industries is making a decisive step in the company’s evolution to an emerging defense prime built for the era of autonomous warfare.

Delian Alliance Industries

Delian Alliance Industries is a defense technology company focused on autonomous systems for situational awareness and anti-access/area denial (A2/AD). Its mission is to protect Europe and its allies in a new era of warfare. Delian’s team combines expertise in AI, resilient SW services, electronic warfare, and rapid manufacturing. Its systems are designed to be low cost, deployed in mass, and sovereign. Delian has offices in Athens and London and is backed by leading European venture capital funds, while its systems are already deployed in mission critical operations along the European borders.

Details about the Interceptigon Series

Naval News reached out to Delian Alliance Industries to learn more about their new products, which will be unveiled for the first time at the Defence Exhibition Athens (DEFEA) 2025, taking place from May 6 to 9 at the Metropolitan Expo, adjacent to Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos“. The following information was provided exclusively to Naval News as part of the company’s response to our inquiries.

Specifications of Interceptigon Series

Interceptigon is a series of unmanned aerial and surface one-way effectors (OWEs), with autonomous terminal navigation and capability for concealment until launch. The initial configurations of the series, i.e., Interception A and N., are focused on littoral waters and short range neutralization of threats.

They are designed from the ground-up to rely on modern AI and autonomous software, allowing the incorporation of commercial off-the shelf (COTS) components, and scalable manufacturing. They cover a key gap, in existing western strike capabilities, by providing attritable and autonomous strike-capabilities, at a fraction of the cost of legacy exquisite systems.

The system is under development and testing. Final specifications, including payload configurations and swarm logic, are being refined in close alignment with end-user requirements, with testing and iteration continuing through 2025.

Regarding their specifications, Interceptigon N cruises at a speed of 80 km/h, with an operational range of 30 kilometers, and can carry a payload of up to 70 kilograms. Optimized for engaging surface maritime targets, it delivers precision and autonomy in littoral environments. Interceptigon Α is a low-cost, autonomous effector designed for surface target engagement. It features a cruising speed of 100 km/h, a maximum range of 40 kilometers, and can carry a payload of up to 371 grams. Optimized for short-range missions, it is ideal for rapid, attritable response in coastal defense scenarios.

What Are the Use Cases?

Interceptigons offer distributed, resilient kill chains at a fraction of the cost of traditional platforms. These systems deliver asymmetric advantages through mass deployment, targeting high-value assets with attritable units that can be fielded at scale. By dramatically shifting the cost-exchange ratio in the defender’s favor, Interceptigon systems enable sovereign nations to establish credible deterrence and maintain territorial integrity against conventionally superior adversaries.

With their existing sensing lineups of surveillance towers, and edge AI modules for the fusion of legacy sensors, they are already providing a mature line-up for the sensing capabilities of A2/AD networks. Their new strike line-up focuses on coastal and territorial defense by providing the key components of A2/AD networks.

A key lesson learnt from the on-going near-peer conflict in Ukraine, is that large exquisite legacy platforms, e.g., a frigate or a corvette, can become overwhelmed from asymmetric coordinated attacks from swarms of attritable drones or unmanned vessels. With their line-up they aim to provide that capability to advantage of sovereign nations defending their territorial integrity and exclusive economic zone.

Operational System and Concept of Operations

Delian Alliance Industries sees both their existing surveillance systems currently operational with end-users in the field (e.g., surveillance towers for coastal, air and border surveillance, and portable edge computers for legacy sensors) as well as their upcoming offerings in strike systems (e.g., Interceptigons) as the backbone of a mosaic comprising a plethora of sensors (legacy or not), and effectors (legacy or novel as those in this release), all interconnected to the same software platform, capable to enforce anti-access or area denial zones, at machine speed.

The company is looking forward to working closely with end-users towards the utilization of Interceptigons OWE as pieces of A2/AD networks. To that end, they provide certain unique capabilities:

  • Concealed deployment till launch
  • Autonomous terminal navigation
  • Attritable leveraging commercial off the shelf (COTS) components for mass deployment and manufacturing.
