Denmark-based company Copenhagen Global unveiled their first unmanned surface vessel (USV) last week during the DALO Industry days 2025. The ‘Copenhagen Orca’ is designed for maritime domain awareness (MDA) and critical underwater infrastructure (CUI) surveillance missions.

Copenhagen Global introduced during the exhibition a new domestically-produced USV dubbed ‘Copenhagen Orca’ finalized in just 9 months. The Danish company told Naval News:

“Our High-Speed, Low-Signature, wave-piercing COPENHAGEN ORCA solution is produced in Denmark, leveraging advanced Off-Shore-Wind production technology and designed for scalable production. We have also initiated a collaboration with the Danish Technological Institute and the University of Southern Denmark to ensure the continuous development of our products through access to new knowledge and research.

The jamming-resistant and AI-supported USV solution has been developed in less than nine months, and the COPENHAGEN ORCA production line has just been initiated after successful sea trials of the prototype that is unveiled and displayed at DALO Days. This achievement has been made possible through a strong and trusted collaboration with first-in-class partners, combining cutting-edge technology, innovation, and domain expertise:

Radionor Communications A/S, Maritime Robotics A/S, Teledyne RESON, Teledyne FLIR, Microsoft and Atreides

Copenhagen Global is using an existing Windfarm production facility in Denmark is order to be able to produce this USV on a large scale and at a fast pace.

The ‘Copenhagen Orca’ USV has a weight of just above 5 tons, a payload capacity of 825 Kg, a top speed in excess of 40 knots, a range of 1,400 nautical miles at 5 knots and an endurance of 3 to 6 weeks depending on the configuration.
