With the support of the Spanish Embassy, Navantia has organized an in depth Industry event for cooperation in the Swedish LULEร class frigate program.

Navantia has today organized an event with the Swedish industry, with the attendance of more than 50 professionals from local companies.
In the course of it, Navantia has presented its plans to involve local industry in the project of future frigates for the Swedish Navy, planned to gain operational capability within NATO. The aim of Navantia is to offer the local industry a solid partnership in order to build this operational in time and maintain it through the life cycle.
In this sense, Navantia has also signed two Letters of Intent (LoI) with Stockholm Repairyard and รresund Drydocks for the joint collaboration within the program.
This event has been organized in the Embassy of Spain in Stockholm, and hosted by the Ambassador Luis Manuel Cuesta Civรญs, who has showed the support of the Spanish Government to this program and the reliability of the Navantia proposal.
On behalf of Navantia, Juan de la Cueva, commercial director, has presented the capabilities of Navantia.
After several presentations, the companies had the opportunity to participate in one-on-one meetings with the Navantia team, as well as share time and experiences among them.

In addition to Navantia’s proposal, Sweden’s FMV has been evaluating offers from Naval Group, Babcock and Saab Kockums since the Summer. A decision on the design is expected for Q1 2026.
