Lighting is said to be the cause of the fire that broke out aboard French Navy Rubis-Class nuclear-powered attack submarine (SSN) ‘Perle’ in June, according to the new French Navy's Chief of Staff, Admiral Pierre Vandier. US Navy sailors reported a fire aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) while moored pier side at Naval Base San Diego July 12, at approximately 8:30 a.m. Thus far seventeen Sailors and four civilians are being treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.
