Rafael’s C- Dome Achieves FOC on Sa’ar 6-class Corvettes

The naval version of the Iron Dome system, known as “C-Dome” achieved full operational capability last week aboard a Sa’ar 6 corvette.
On May 29, 2023, the IDF conducted a series of live firings of the C-Dome naval point defense system from its new Sa’ar 6 corvette.
Israeli Aerospace Industries (IAI) announced on November 30, 2022, that it has successfully test-launched BARAK LRAD surface-to-air missile from Sa’ar 6-class corvette INS Oz.
The Israeli Navy’s Sa’ar 6-class corvette, INS Oz, successfully fired the Gabriel V anti-ship missile in August 2022. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the test firing with a video on Twitter on September 21, 2022.
Rafael have completed a successful series of live-fire tests of the ‘C-Dome’ system – an advanced naval configuration of the Iron Dome defense system.
Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems has handed over the last two ships, “INS Atzmaut” and “INS Nitzachon”, to the Israeli Navy on July 27. The SA`AR 6-class corvettes had been christened earlier. This means that all four ships ordered have now been delivered to the Israeli Navy.

The Israeli Navy first Sa’ar 6-class corvette, INS Magen, will arrive in Israel in December, the country’s MoD said on . Within the coming year, three more Sa’ar 6 ships will be transferred to Israel from thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) Kiel shipyard, Germany.
On May 23, 2019, the first SA’AR-6 class corvette was named INS Magen at a ceremony in Kiel. This marks another important milestone in the ongoing program of thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) as General Contractor to build four next-generation missile corvettes for the Israeli Navy.
