On Aug. 3, the U.S. Navy recovered the F/A-18E Super Hornet aircraft assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW 1), embarked aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) that blew overboard due to unexpected heavy weather in the Mediterranean Sea July 8, 2022.

The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (HST) conducts NATO's enhanced Air Policing activities in direct support of Alliance security, as part of its scheduled deployment in the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations to defend U.S., Allied and Partner interests in Europe and Africa.
