The forward section of the Jacques Chevallier, the first of four Logistic Support Ships (LSS) ordered by Chantiers de l’Atlantique to Fincantieri under the French Navy FLOTLOG program (“Flotte logistique”), was delivered on November 6 at the Castellammare di Stabia (Naples) shipyard.

iXblue was selected by Naval Group to provide navigation systems to the four future tankers for the French Navy. Phins navigation systems and Netans navigation data distribution & computation systems will thus equip the future logistics support vessels, as part of the “Logistics Fleet” program (Flotte Logistique (FLOTLOG)) led by the European Organization for Joint Armament Cooperation (Organisation Conjointe de Coopération en matière d’ARmement (OCCAR)) on behalf of the French Defense Procurement Agency DGA, and its Italian counterpart, NAVARM.

A temporary consortium formed by Chantiers de l’Atlantique and Naval Group has been awarded a contract for four Logistic Support Ships (LSS). As part of the deal, MAN Energy Solutions will supply the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard with a total of 16 engines in connection with the building of the four refuelling tankers for the French Navy.
