Cyprus, Greece, France and Italy on Wednesday started combined and joint naval-air drills in the Eastern Mediterranean. The exercise, named Eunomia, contributes to the common security in the region and to defend the freedom of navigation, according to the French military.

The First Steel Cutting ceremony for the Italian Navy's Fifth Multipurpose Patrol Ship (PPA) took place on the 25th June at Riva Trigoso Shipyard (Genova). The steel cutting ceremony is a very meaningful milestone, as it marks the first tangible step of the building process and constitutes the virtual birth of a new ship.

The subsea rescue system developed by Saipem in collaboration with Drass, a leading company in submarine and hyperbaric crewed technology, was selected by Marina Militare Italiana (the Italian Navy) for the equipment of the SDO-SuRS (Special & Diving Operations - Submarine Rescue Ship) ship, the new vessel for the rescue of submarines.

French Navy (Marine Nationale) frigate Courbet, left the port of Toulon as flagship to NATO’s Operation Sea Guardian (OSG) Focused Patrol on 28 May, 2020. The Task Group is composed of FS Courbet and Italian Navy (Marina Militare) FREMM ITS Carabiniere, who participate in this OSG Focused Patrol as part of the multinational force EUROMARFOR.
