Austal USA has been awarded a US$54,997,317 (A$84,455,364) fixed-priced incentive (firm-target) contract modification for the construction of two additional Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1700-class vessels for the United States Navy.

Austal USA will build three landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1700 class vessels for the United States Navy.

The Louisiana-based yard Swiftships secured a US$26 million contract to exercise an option for construction of Landing Craft, Utility (LCU) 1701 and 1702, the US Department of Defense stated on Feb. 4, 2019.
