Two Future Multi-Mission Frigates (FFM or 30FFM) are starting to take shape at two shipyards in Japan. Images and videos obtained by Naval News from local shipspotters show the integrated mast has been fitted. Both hulls should be ready for launch before the end of the year.

Damen has been working on the Australian Antarctic Supply Research Vessel (ASRV) since 2016. A floating laboratory icebreaker that will carry out research in the Southern Oceans and around Antarctica. After the initial construction of RSV Nuyina at Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania, the ship is now undertaking final commissioning tests and being prepared for sea trials in Vlissingen, the Netherlands.

Quebec-based shipbuilder Davie Shipyard welcomed on 11 August the Royal Canadian Navy Halifax-class frigate HMCS St. John for major refit and upgrade. The event marks the start of a long-term naval maintenance and upgrade program that will keep the Halifax-class frigates operational until the arrival of the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) in the 2040s.
