China’s fourth amphibious assault ship, a Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) known as Type 075, was launched in Shanghai today.
The fourth Type 075 LHD for the Chinese Navy is rapidly taking shape with builder Hudong-Zhonghua at their primary shipyard in Shanghai.

China’s second Type 075 Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) (NATO reporting name: Yushen-class LHA) was commissioned with the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy)’s East Sea Fleet. The vessel is named after Guangxi (广西), an autonomous region located in South China and bordering Vietnam and the Gulf of Tonkin.
In a what is likely a first ever, China’s today commissioned three major vessels into the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) fleet: A Type 055 Destroyer (NATO designation: Renhai-class cruiser), a Type 075 LHD (NATO designation: Yushen-class) and a Type 094 SSBN (NATO Designation: Jin-class).
