USMC XQ-58A Valkyrie, a highly autonomous, low-cost tactical UAV successfully completed its first test flight October 3, 2023.
On Dec. 30, 2022, the U.S. Department of Defense announced a contract award to Kratos Unmanned Aerial Systems Inc. valued at approximately $15.5 million for the procurement of two XQ-58A Valkyrie unmanned aerial systems, known for their “loyal wingman” role.
