The French group Zodiac Milpro, a world leader in inflatable and semi-rigid boats for professional and military use, has announced the extension of its production site in Spain. This strategic project is part of a sustained growth dynamic and aims to significantly increase the group’s industrial capacity to meet sharply rising European demand.

Zodiac Milpro press release

A French group at the heart of Europe’s naval defence and security industry.

A key partner in the European defence industry, the Group is a strategic supplier to many national navies, special forces and sea rescue services, providing them with robust, versatile solutions tailored to the most demanding operational environments. Headquartered in Paris, Zodiac Milpro is supported by a state-of-the-art research and development centre in the Paris region, as well as an international industrial network comprising five production sites in Canada, the United States, Australia, Germany and Spain – where its main manufacturing unit is located in Rosas.

A 20% increase in capacity to meet European demand

Present in Catalonia since 1964, Zodiac Milpro is consolidating its industrial base by investing significantly in the extension of its Rosas site, at the heart of its European strategy. This modernisation involves the addition of 2,000 mยฒ of production workshops – bringing the total surface area to 14,000 mยฒ – as well as 350 mยฒ of new offices. The aim is to increase production capacity by 20%, accommodate larger-scale programmes and strengthen engineering capacity to meet increasingly complex projects. The expansion of the plant is accompanied by a strong drive for growth in human resources: the workforce is expected to reach 280 once the recruitment plan is complete, representing a 60% increase in just three years.

Increased industrial capacity to support innovation

The extension of the Rosas site is a response not only to a significant increase in demand in Europe, but also to the changing operational requirements expressed by defence and maritime security forces. As part of large-scale technological projects, such as the development of UAV systems, Zodiac Milpro anticipates an increase in its activities in the integration of complex systems. This increased capacity will support the production of larger, more complex platforms, while guaranteeing responsiveness and industrial performance.

Controlled deployment at the heart of the 2025-2026 industrial strategy

The works will take place between May and December 2025, with full commissioning of the extension scheduled for January 2026. This development marks a new stage in the industrial and technological development of Zodiac Milpro, serving maritime security and defence forces in Europe and abroad.
