Naval Group press release

This agreement marks the first step of a mutually beneficial strategic cooperation intended to support the future integration of the missile into the launching system.

In an asymmetric and complex operational environment, providing innovative options to manage different type of threats remains the highest priority for Naval Group, MESKO and TELESYTEM. The three companies will explore the integration of PIORUN missile onto the Rampart to offer an integrated European solution for countering conventional and asymmetric threats, addressing naval, air and land forces.

With complementary skills and know-how in near-field combat, Naval Group will bring its experience in integrating weapons, weapons launching systems and equipement on warships, while MESKO and TELESYSTEM will contribute with their expertises in the production and supply of high technology missile.

MESKO’s Piorun is a modern short-range surface to air missile designed to counter low flying aerial threats, including aircrafts, helicopters, UAVs and winged rockets. The missile has a fuse equipped with a proximity sensor, which allows for destroying the target in case of its close passing.
