Couach press release

Thanks to its strong capacity of integration of equipment and systems, Chantier Naval Couach designs and builds the new generation patrol boat, highly technological and robust, to meet today’s and tomorrow’s missions.

Thanks to its multiple configurations, the 2200 FPB represents a versatile platform, oriented towards border protection, control and anti-piracy and anti-smuggling missions, as well as for reconnaissance, surveillance and intelligence operations.

The 2200 FPB, with a length of 22.5 meters and a width of 5.60 meters, carries a number of technologies and weapons, demonstrating the integration capabilities of the Couach Shipyard: the ship is equipped with two remotely operated Dynateq weapon stations (20 mm caliber at the front and 12.7 mm at the rear). A LIG Nex1 rocket launcher (9 tubes) is also installed aft. The combat management system (CMS) is supplied by Nexeya, the day/night camera by Safran and the communications suite by Thales. The ship’s CMS recovers and compiles all the information provided by the various surveillance equipment and redistributes it to the navigation staff consoles and firing stations.

The 2200 FPB also benefits from the expertise of the Couach Shipyard for its excellent performance at sea, combining speed – up to more than 30 knots maximum speed, 18 knots in sea state 4 – and maneuverability. The Chantier Naval Couach also puts its experience in the civil domain at the service of the comfort at sea and the habitability of the ship for the 10 crew members.

The 2200 FPB is already in production at Chantier Naval Couach in Gujan-Mestras for an export customer. Its high versatility makes it a product that can be used by naval forces, gendarmeries/maritime police.

Thanks to this great success, the Couach Shipyard demonstrates a strong and unprecedented experience in the integration of multiple sophisticated equipment and systems for ships of this size, allowing it to deliver reliable, efficient and robust ships for the operational needs of its customers.
