Chess Dynamics press release
Providing advanced situational awareness, surveillance, and precision gunfire control solutions for all classes of surface vessels, the Sea Eagle family includes the Sea Eagle EOSS, FCEO, FCEO MKII, FCRO and C-UAS.
The Sea Eagle FCEO electro optical fire control director will be showcased at Indo Pacific 2022. The system can control any ‘in-service’ naval gun from 30mm to 127mm for fire against air, surface and shore targets. The system also provides 24-hour detection, acquisition, tracking, identification and engagement of air and surface targets through its thermal and TV sensors with target range provided by a high repetition laser rangefinder.
In addition, it can also provide 24-hour persistent surveillance capabilities, enhancing situational awareness – acting as an aid to navigation and search and rescue.
The Sea Eagle FCEO is currently in service with the UK Royal Navy on the Type 23 frigates as well as navies in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South America. It has also entered service on the UK Royal Navy’s River Class OPVs and provides electro optical fire control for the Type 26 frigate.
“We’re excited to be exhibiting with our partners Owen International at Indo Pacific and to be able to showcase the advanced situational awareness and precision control that the Sea Eagle can offer the Royal Australian Navy. Through our local partnership with Owen International, which is responsible for the system’s final assembly, integration, test and through life support, the Australian markets can benefit from our proven local in-service support capabilities.”
Martin Read, Naval Sales Manager at Chess Dynamics
The partnership between Chess Dynamics and Owen International involves the transfer of intellectual property and training of Australian personnel and has already led to export wins for Australian industry as a result of the Hunter-class Australian industry capability plan. Included in this are the use of Australian cameras and thermal imagers from Electro Optic Systems and laser range finders from Laserdyne in international naval programmes.
Details of the complete Sea Eagle family including the EOSS, a general-purpose electro optical surveillance system suitable for all classes of vessel; and FCRO, the new radar and electro optical tracking and fire control system will be available at Indo Pacific 2022.
