The company’s Marins Series Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), Quadrans Gyrocompasses and Netans Navigation Data Distribution & Computation Systems (NDDCS) will thus equip the new series of vessels expected to be delivered in 2022 -2024.

“We’re very proud to be supporting the Norwegian Coast Guard in securing Norway’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ), internal and territorial waters,” states Regis Blomme, Sales Director at iXblue.

“The arctic zone, in which the new vessels will operate, is a very challenging environment and our Fiber-Optic Gyroscope (FOG) based INS and Netans NDDCS have already proven to offer highly accurate, resilient, and secure navigation in such Northern latitudes. We particularly want to thank Vard for their strong vote of confidence in our technology and look forward to our collaboration with them.“

Regis Blomme, Sales Director at iXblue

Benefitting from strap-down solid-state FOG technology, iXblue’s INS require zero maintenance through life whilst having no life limited components. Combined with the Netans Series of Navigation Data Distribution & Computation Systems, they ensure that resilient and reliable navigation information is provided at all times and address the cybersecurity challenges faced by the world’s navies.

iXblue technologies already offer undisrupted navigation capabilities to over 40 navies and Coast Guards worldwide and are onboard all types of naval platforms (surface ships, submarines, AUVs…) ensuring vessel safety and enabling naval platforms to successfully perform their missions, mitigating the common risk posed by the loss, jamming and spoofing of GNSS signals.
