“Batch production of Tsirkon is already ongoing at NPO mashinostroenia, although acceptance trials of the missile from a surface warship will continue,” he said.

NPO mashinostroenia refused comment.

President Vladimir Putin said on November 3 that Tsirkon would be delivered to the Navy in 2022. The Defense Ministry announced on November 18 a successful test launch of Tsirkon from the Admiral Gorshkov frigate. Acceptance trials include five test launches at sea and coastal targets.

The Defense Ministry signed a contract for Tsirkon supplies at Army-2021 forum in August.
