The United States Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is tasked with creating a solution to intercept enemy Hypersonic Glide Bodies (HGB) that threaten allied naval and maritime vessels and interests. In order to accomplish this, MDA is developing missile interceptors to literally hit a hypersonic missile with a hypersonic missile and is termed, “Enhanced Hypersonic Missile Defense.” Naval News reached out to the MDA for comment.
