HAVELSAN press release

In the 14 years since the first delivery of the system, the Submarine Data Distribution system (DBDS) for ten submarines and the Ship Data Distribution System (GVDS) for 31 surface ships have been developed and successfully put into use both at home and abroad.

At home, a total of 36 systems were produced. Twenty-nine of these systems were GVDSs and distributed as follows:  5 for MİLGEM, 16 for New Type Patrol Boat, 2 for LST, 1 per TCG Anadolu, DIMDEG, TVEG, Burak, Barbaros, and Kılıç. On the other hand, DBDSs were deployed on seven submarines; 6 for Reis-Class submarines and 1 for Preveze submarine.

A total of 5 systems, 2 GVDSs for Pakistan MİLGEM Corvette and 3 DBDSs for Pakistan AGOSTA submarines, were developed.

GVDS and DBDS considered the heart of the platforms, have direct connections with many systems on the platform, and these systems get the data they need through GVDS and DBDS.

The system was designed and developed with such speed and performance that it prepares the data infrastructure necessary for the ship to hit the bullseye even in a rough sea in bad weather conditions

HAVELSAN, which provides the necessary infrastructure for tactical sensors such as radars and weapon systems such as cannons to operate at the highest performance even in the worst conditions in the ship environment, also supplies most of the electronic cards needed by the GVDS/DBDS product family and develops all of its software and mechanical needs with its in-house unique engineering solutions. Despite the very high number of platforms these systems have been running so far, they continue to serve  24/7 with a very high success rate without encountering any major malfunction. Furthermore, 41 systems have been delivered by now, and 20 ships and submarines are in queue for delivery within the scope of domestic and international projects awarded.

The HAVELSAN GVDS/DBDS product family, which has reached around 75% locality by exceeding even the locality rate in the contract signed with the Presidency of Defense Industries, allows the platform on which it is installed to operate at the highest performance even in the most challenging sea conditions.

GVDS

HAVELSAN Ship Data Distribution System (GVDS), a member of the HAVELSAN Platform Data Distribution Systems (PDDS) family, is designed to operate with full performance under any environmental condition of surface platforms. HAVELSAN GVDS, a redundant and reliable system, is developed for use on large, medium and small-sized warships with its 24/7 warfighting readiness and is a key system for the integration of ship systems.

  • MIDI CABINET: 25U Device Capacity
  • MINI CABINET: 14U Device Capacity
  • MIKRO CABINET: 8U Device Capacity

The “heart” of ships, HAVELSAN Platform Data Distribution System, with its reliable operating performance and technology is preferred by the Turkish Naval Forces and many other countries’ naval forces since 2009.

DBDS

The weapons, sensors, and navigation systems in submarines, which have the most complex technology after space vehicles, must be able to function fully, data integration of these systems must be done correctly and only correct and valid data must be circulated in the fastest way throughout entire combat system.

HAVELSAN Submarine Data Distribution System (DBDS), a member of the HAVELSAN Platform Data Distribution Systems (PDDS) family, is designed to operate smoothly under any environmental condition of a submarine. HAVELSAN DBDS, a redundant and reliable system, provides 24/7 warfighting readiness and increases navigational safety.
