The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), represented by the Special Staff of the Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral TNI Retiono Kunto on behalf of the Head of Defense Facility Agency of the Ministry of Defense, Air Marshal TNI Yusuf Jauhari, inaugurated the First Steel Cutting (FSC) ceremony for two Full Combat Mission Fast Missile Boats (KCR) (NB74 & NB75) at the CNC Fabrication Workshop, Sefine Shipyard, Altinova, Yalova, Turkey, on October 30, 2024.
This FSC event marks the initial phase of the defense equipment procurement project based on the sale and purchase contract between the Ministry of Defense and TAIS Shipyard. The inauguration of the FSC was symbolized by the pressing of the siren button by Vice Admiral TNI Retiono Kunto, the Secretary for Defense Facilities Development, the Indonesian Ambassador to Türkiye, the Director of TAIS, the CEO of Sefine Shipyard, and the General Manager of Sefine Shipyard.
Following this, the signing of the FSC Full Combat Mission report took place, attended by Vice Admiral TNI Retiono Kunto and Sefine Shipyard’s General Manager, Suleyman A. Tuzcuoglu. The event concluded with the presentation of a silhouette of the Full Combat Mission KCR by Sefine Shipyard’s GM to Vice Admiral TNI Retiono Kunto.
In a written speech delivered by Vice Admiral TNI Retiono Kunto, the Head of Defense Facility Agency of the Ministry of Defense emphasized that the first steel cutting for the Full Combat Mission KCR for the Indonesian Navy marks an important milestone in the shipbuilding process, indicating the start of the vessel’s hull structure construction.

On a separate occasion, the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali, conveyed that the Indonesian Navy will continue to focus on achieving an operational-ready force through modernization, maintenance, and upkeep of defense equipment to ensure readiness according to operational needs.

About KCR-70M / FACM-70 of the Indonesian Navy
The KCR-70M is based on Sefine Shipyard’s FACM-70 design, which is a 70-meter fast attack craft.
The primary missions of the FACM-70 include intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations, anti-surface warfare, and anti-air warfare.
