The group boats will be used for transport to, between and within the amphibious battalions’ operational areas and base areas. The boat has room for eight people plus two crew members or the ability to take smaller amounts of cargo. The boat is characterized by simplicity and robustness and allows for quick handling during transportation, loading and unloading.

The new group boats have improved capabilities compared to the older version.

โ€œIt is mainly about the fact that we have taken measures to improve maritime safety and made adjustments to the needs of the new amphibious battalions,โ€ says Agnes Moberg, project manager for FMV’s marine operations area.

The basic commitment of the agreement is worth approximately SEK 130 million and includes 20 group boats. The first boat will be delivered as a pre-series boat, followed by the delivery of the rest of the boats. Final delivery will take place in 2028.
