Teledyne press release

Kรณpavogur, Iceland โ€” January 26, 2026:  Teledyne Gavia, a global leader in modular autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), is pleased to announce the successful delivery of the first four GAVIA AUV systems to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).

Teledyne Gavia delivered these initial AUVs ahead of schedule and within budget, demonstrating strong execution and timely delivery, supported by a comprehensive service and support concept developed in collaboration with FLIR Sweden.

Proven Performance

Teledyne Marine is a leading provider of unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) with two main production facilities located in North Falmouth, MA and Kopavogur, Iceland along with a network of international service centers. As of January 2026, Teledyne has delivered over 12,000 APEX floats, 1,275 Slocum gliders (with over 600 to NATO naval users), and Gavia AUV systems have been purchased by 18 navies. Teledyne unmanned systems are operational with numerous NATO and AUKUS navies.

The newly delivered GAVIA Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) system forms part of a multi-year framework agreement between Teledyne Marine and FMV, under which GAVIA AUVs will support fleet modernization initiatives for the Swedish Armed Forces by enhancing underwater surveillance capabilities and improving operational efficiency.

The vehicles delivered under this agreement incorporate Teledyne’s proven modular architecture, enabling rapid reconfiguration for missions including mine countermeasures, hydrography, intelligence collection, seabed mapping, and surveillance.

“We are pleased to finalize delivery of the first systems and continue our collaboration with FMV,” said Stefan Reynisson, Vice President & General Manager, Teledyne Gavia. “GAVIA’s versatility and reliability make it an ideal asset for Sweden’s evolving undersea operational needs.”

The completion of this initial delivery supports FMV’s broader strategy to enhance autonomous underwater capabilities across the Swedish Navy. Teledyne Gavia extends its appreciation to FMV for its continued confidence in the GAVIA platform and looks forward to supporting Sweden’s future undersea technology and defense initiatives.
