A significant milestone has been achieved in the F126 Frigate programme following a major contract amendment between Marine Specialised Technology (MST), Damen Naval, and BAAINBw (Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support).

The agreement resolves previous design challenges and introduces a technical enhancement package, paving the way for the next-generation Fast Raiding, Interception and Special Forces Craft (FRISC).
The amendment represents a substantial expansion of scope, transforming the MST FRISC platform into a highly capable, network-enabled asset. At its core, the new package delivers a step-change in operational effectiveness through an advanced suite of C4ISR-aligned capabilities, including:
- Integrated Communications: Including multi-channel tactical radios.
- Enhanced Situational Awareness: Integration of various sensors and advanced user interfaces.
- Mission Architecture: Advanced workstation and network architecture.
- Crew Performance & Resilience: Upgraded ergonomic seating, improved electromagnetic compatibility, and expanded provision of spares and tools.
- Physical Adaptations: Improved equipment layout and modularity.
