The subcontract for another critical piece of equipment for the Future Submarine Program has been signed between Naval Group and Babcock for the procurement of the Weapon Discharge System (WDS) responsible for launching the Attack Class submarines weaponry.

The UK Ministry of Defence today formally awarded Babcock International Group PLC the contract for the Royal Navy’s future Type 31e Frigates.

Babcock Team 31 has been selected by the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) as the preferred bidder to deliver its new warships. Led by Babcock, the Aerospace and Defence company, and in partnership with the Thales Group, the T31 general purpose frigate programme will provide the UK Government with a fleet of five ships, at an average production cost of £250 million per ship.

Babcock International, the Aerospace and Defence company, has secured a 3.5 year Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) contract. Working in collaboration with Lockheed Martin UK – Integrated Solutions, this programme will deliver in-service support for Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control systems (TTWCS) and associated auxiliaries for the UK Ministry of Defence (Defence Equipment & Support).

Babcock International, the Aerospace and Defence company, has successfully completed Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of the Air Weapons Handling System (AWHS) for the Type 26 Global Combat Ship, designed for BAE Systems.

Duqm Naval Dockyard (DND) has successfully completed its first dry docking project, the Repair, Overhaul and Dry Docking (ROH DD) of the Fast Expeditionary Transport ship, the USNS Choctaw County.

Babcock International has completed the first docking and maintenance period on HMS Queen Elizabeth at its Rosyth site, the British Aerospace and Defence company announced on May 21, 2019.
