iXblue was selected by Naval Group to provide navigation systems to the four future tankers for the French Navy. Phins navigation systems and Netans navigation data distribution & computation systems will thus equip the future logistics support vessels, as part of the “Logistics Fleet” program (Flotte Logistique (FLOTLOG)) led by the European Organization for Joint Armament Cooperation (Organisation Conjointe de Coopération en matière d’ARmement (OCCAR)) on behalf of the French Defense Procurement Agency DGA, and its Italian counterpart, NAVARM.

The construction of the first of four new replenishment tankers / supply vessels for the French navy (Marine Nationale) started today at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in cooperation with Naval Group. The future vessels will be known as the Jacques Chevallier-class.

Chantiers de l'Atlantique and Naval Group were notified yesterday of an order for four Logistic Support Ships (LSS). Previously known as FLOTLOG (for Flotte Logistique), the BRF (bâtiments ravitailleurs de force or force replenishment vessel) contract is valued at 1.7 Billion Euros. The design of the French BRF is based on the Italian LSS (Vulcano-class)
