On 12th November, the Pakistan Navy commissioned its new Corvette – a Damen OPV 1900 – named PNS Tabuk at the Port of Constanta, Romania.
On 28th August, Damen Shipyards Cape Town (DSCT) held a keel-laying ceremony for the second of three Multi-Mission Inshore Patrol Vessels (MMIPV) that Damen is building for the South African Navy’s Project BIRO.

Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding, in partnership with GE, will deliver a new Combat Support Ship to the Royal Netherlands Navy. GE’s robust, proven electric propulsion technology was selected for its low noise signature, high level of reliability and commonality with the Joint Support Ship (HNLMS Karel Doorman).

Damen has been working on the Australian Antarctic Supply Research Vessel (ASRV) since 2016. A floating laboratory icebreaker that will carry out research in the Southern Oceans and around Antarctica. After the initial construction of RSV Nuyina at Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania, the ship is now undertaking final commissioning tests and being prepared for sea trials in Vlissingen, the Netherlands.

Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding signed a contract with Rohde & Schwarz for the delivery and installation of internal and external communication systems for the Royal Netherlands Navy’s Combat Support Ship, Den Helder.

Damen Shipyards Group, as coordinator of the SEA Defence (Survivability, Electrification, Automation, Detectability, Enabling Foresight of European Naval Capabilities in Extreme conditions) project, is proud to announce that the European Commission has selected this proposal within the European Defence Industrial Development Programme (EDIDP 2019).

On June 19, 2020, Damen Shipyards Group and the German Bundesamt für Ausrüstung, Informationstechnik und Nutzung der Bundeswehr (BAAINBw) signed the contract for the construction of four MKS 180 frigates for the German Navy.

The German parliament has formally approved yesterday the procurement of four multi-purpose MKS 180 (Multi-purpose Combat Ship or MehrzweckKampfSchiff ) vessels for the German Navy (Deutsche Marine).
