On 14-15 August 2022, the European Union (EU) and Indonesia conducted their first joint naval exercise in the Arabian Sea.
During an anti-piracy patrol in the southern Somali basin as part of Operation Atalanta, the French frigate FS Floreal conducted four consecutive major counter-narcotics operations from April 14-18, seizing 2042 kg of hard drugs.
Operation Atalanta´s new mandate entered into force on 1st of January 2021. New tasks will reinforce the EU NAVFOR’s counter-piracy core responsibilities.
