Vestdavit To Supply Davits For Finnish Navy’s Future Corvettes

Vestdavit has been selected by the Finnish Navy to provide telescopic davits as part of the Finnish Navy’s SQUADRON 2020 Project.
Two years ago, the Finnish Defense Ministry selected Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) and Saab for the building of four new Pohjanmaa-class corvettes within the Squadron 2020 program. It appears now that the program is facing a new, 6 to 12 months, delay because of extra design work.
The Finnish Navy (Merivoimat), on December 11, took delivery of a second modernized Hamina-class missile boat. The second vessel is FNS Hamina with pennant number 81.

Finland’s Pohjanmaa-class corvette program is making good progress. According to the Finnish Navy, the procurement contracts signed a year ago laid a solid foundation and the preparatory work is currently underway for the start of construction in 2022.
