The minesweeper Georgy Kurbatov has joined the Russian Navy, the Baltic Fleet’s press office said. The flag-raising ceremony took place at the Baltic Fleet’s main base in Baltiysk.

Royal Navy minehunters HMS Ramsey and HMS Blyth were formally decommissioned on August 4, during a poignant ceremony at Rosyth Dockyard.

The Russian Ministry plans to expand the capabilities of project 20380 corvettes. The Izvestia daily said the warships may be armed with unmanned underwater craft to fight mines.

Personnel from Royal Australian Navy (RAN) hydrographic survey ship HMAS Melville laid two inert minefields as part of Exercise Talisman Sabre 21 (TS21). 

A steel cutting ceremony for the Belgian Navy and Royal Netherlands Navy mine countermeasure vessel (MCM) program was held at Crist Shipyard in Gdynia (Poland), on July 19. The first steel sheet was cut for the Belgian Navy's first-in-class MCM vessel.

In the frame of the EDIDP (European Defence Industrial Development Programme) and in line with PESCO project MAS MCM (Maritime semi- Autonomous Mine Counter Measures) Naval Group Belgium, a 100% subsidiary of Naval Group, will lead MIRICLE ((Mine Risk Clearance for Europe) project for a period of twenty-four months.

On July 9, 2021, the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) signed a contract with Atlas Elektronik worth 44 million euros to upgrade combat management systems for minehunter vessels.

The third and final Royal Navy autonomous minehunting boat has been delivered to Clyde Naval Base.

The light frigate Dena (hull number 75) and minesweeper Shahin (hull number M111) were commissioned at a ceremony at the main Iranian naval base in Bandar Abbas port, located in the Strait of Hormuz.
