The French Navy (Marine Nationale) multi-mission frigate (FREMM) "Normandie" entered "active duty" (admission au service actif in French) on June 3, 2020. It is the sixth and final Aquitaine-class frigate in anti-submarine warfare (ASW) variant.

The French Navy (Marine Nationale) started tests of the Link 22 (L22) secure digital radio data link. The tests were recently conducted in the North Atlantic by FREMM Frigate "Normandie" with the Royal Canadian Navy and the Royal Netherlands Navy.

The French Armament General Directorate (DGA) took delivery of the FREMM Frigate Normandie from Naval Group. Normandie is the sixth and final anti-submarine warfare variant FREMM for the French Navy.

Naval Group hosted the French Minister for the Armed Forces, Florence Parly, to celebrate the end of work on the sixth and final ASW variant multi-mission frigates "Normandie". The event was also a celebration for the beginning of the manufacturing of the FREMM frigates with reinforced air defense capabilities (FREMM DA) and of the Defense and Intervention Frigate (FDI), the first fully digital warships.
