Saab is leading a live demonstration as part of the EU-funded OCEAN2020 defence research project. The demonstration is being held in the Baltic Sea in August 2021, with the participation of 17 European companies, research institutes and defence ministries.

The second OCEAN2020 demonstration is due to take place in the Baltic Sea in the end of August. The exercise, which will be coordinated by Saab, will focus upon how naval forces can detect and identify high-speed surface threats and unknown submerged activity.

On 19-20 August the Lithuanian Navy and Baltic Institute of Advanced Technology (BPTI) have conducted unique trials in the Baltic Sea: communication technologies have been tested that should enable real-time information exchange about the maritime environment using aerial, surface and underwater drones. These activities are conducted under the frame of the EU funded project OCEAN2020 designed for the development of military maritime innovations.
