SAMI-Navantia signed €900 Mn contract for RSNF future Avante 2200 corvettes

SAMI Navantia Naval Industries (SAMI-Navantia), a joint venture between Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) and Navantia S.A., last week signed a €900 million contract with the Spanish shipbuilder Navantia to collaborate on Combat System Integration (CSI) on the Avante 2200 corvettes for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF), the JV said at the DSEI 2019 exhibition in London.

French Shipyard CMN delivered the first two HSI32 Interceptors for the Royal Saudi Navy. The delivery ceremony took place July 24, 2019 at the shipyard in Cherbourg, Normandie.

KSA’ SAMI and France’s Naval Group Sign Joint Venture Agreement

Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) and French shipbuilding group Naval Group signed on the opening day of IDEX 2019 a memorandum of agreement (MoA) to create a joint venture for the production and development of naval systems and naval vessels.

On 15th. January, Navantia has initiated, in San Fernando shipyard, the construction of the first corvette for the Saudi Arabia Navy. The event has consisted of the cut of the first plate of the ship, belonging to the block 401, dimensions of 12 x 2,4 meters, a thickness of 7 millimeters and a weight of 1.254 kilos.
