A spokesman of the Indian Ministry of Defence announced back in March that Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL, Visakhapatnam), India's state-owned shipyard, had signed a contract with TAIS, a consortium of five Turkish shipyards, to design and build five large Fleet Support Vessel (FSV) with a displacement of 45,000 tonnes for the Indian Navy.
The Turkish shipyard TAIS recently won a US$2.3Bn contract with the Indian Navy for the delivery of five 45,000-ton fleet support ships, the company announced on May 31.
TAIS unveiled its proposal for the Royal Malaysian Navy’s potential Multirole Support Ship (MRSS) request, Naval News spotted today at LIMA 2019 exhibition. The RMN « 15 to 5 » transformation program involves the acquisition of three MRSS ships, the two first of which being delivered between 2021-2025 and the third one by 2035 - Naval News.
