The People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) promulgated exercise areas surrounding Taiwan in response to Nancy Pelosi’s arrival on the island by aircraft escorted by US fighter jets on August 02, 2022. The exercise areas overlap Taiwan’s territorial waters.
On May 27, 2022, the Military News Agency (MNA), operated by Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND), reported that Hsiung Feng II ASM was launched by an Anping-class Coast Guard ship, the Anping (CG -601).
