The F 142 is a 141 meters surface combatant featuring high fire power, modern combat systems, stealth features, a high level of automation and configurable combat system.
In terms of weapon systems, the scale model on display at DIMDEX is showing the frigate fitted with a 76mm main gun by Leonardo, two Millenium 35mm CIWS by Rheinmetall, two 12.7mm remote weapon stations by Aselsan, 32x VLS cells for surface to air missiles, 16x anti-ship missiles, two torpedo launching systems.
The F 142 features a CODAD propulsion configuration with four diesel engines, four diesel generators and two shafts.
According to DEARSAN Shipyard, the frigate’s primary missions are ASW, ASuW, AAW, EW, surveillance and reconnaissance, tactical picture assessment and helicopter operations. Secondary missions consist in intelligence gathering, patrol, escort of high value units, asymmetric warfare, search and rescue, gun fire support…
