The KD PERANTAU, a Royal Malaysian Navy hydrography survey vessel was the platform for this LIMA’19 Fleet Review. The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Yang Amat Berhormat Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad was onboard to receive the salute from each participating ship.

There were 17 ships from the Royal Malaysian Navy, 5 from Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency, MV POLARIS from the Marine Department of Malaysia and RV DISCOVERY from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. The Fleet Review involved 16 ships from 12 countries participating in this prestigious event. Before the Fleet Review ends, a flypast with a ‘Duyong’ or Mermaid formation was performed by the air assets of the Royal Malaysian Navy, MMEA, the Royal Malaysian Police and the Indian Navy.

Naval News will be publishing a photo report with each participating vessel shortly.
