
Naval Group Launches Second OPV for Argentina – A.R.A Piedrabuena
The second of the four Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPVs) ordered by Argentina has been launched at Piriou’s Shipyards in Concarneau (Britany).

The second of the four Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPVs) ordered by Argentina has been launched at Piriou’s Shipyards in Concarneau (Britany).

The French defense procurement agency (DGA) placed an order for 15 harbor tugs (RP30) and 5 coastal harbor tugs (RPC30) of 30-tonne-class with French shipyard Piriou on April 30. 2020.

The French Navy (Marine Nationale) fourth and final d’Entrecasteaux-class vessel, “Dumont d’Urville”, entered “active duty” (admission au service actif in French) on April 17, 2020.

The Ministry of Armed Forces of Senegal and French shipbuilder PIRIOU signed November 17 a procurement contract for three OPV 58 S for the Navy of Senegal. The vessels will be fitted with missile systems, a first for this African navy.

The French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) took delivery of the fourth Metropolitan Offshore Support & Assistance Vessel (BSAM) on July 4th. Ordered in 2016 for the French Navy, the BSAM Garonne is the final ship of a class designed and built by the Kership shipyard.

Construction of the first of three new Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV) ordered by Argentina just started at the Piriou shipyard in Concarneau, France. A first block is already assembled while official delivery of the vessel is expected for March 2020.

The French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) yesterday took delivery of another Metropolitan Offshore Support & Assistance Vessel (BSAM) Seine. Ordered in 2016 for the French Navy, the BSAM Seine is the third of four ships designed and built by the Kership shipyard.
